Emachine Desktops from BestBuy

So… First off, this is not a stab at Best Buy but funny enough.. the eMachines that I’m about to write about came from Best Buy.

Within the last 5 years I have known some people that have gone through 4 eMachine desktops.  With all 4 boxes there was one similarity/symptom that they all shared:  One day the box would turn on and then next, NOTHING!  Long story short, One box the power supply failed.  This was an easy fix with another cheap power supply from the local computer store (sorry, not BestBuy… Power supplies are a little spendy).  The other 3 boxes had faulty motherboards.

After much thought I came to the conclusion that for around $300 the eMachine can be the perfect short term solution for a computer.  With the total package you get a tower, monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and most times a printer.  If this lasts at least 2 years… that’s a computer for about $12.50 per month..  Not bad for the emailer and online flash gamer… or for that person who needs to write papers, etc, and nothing more.

Great for the deal but back up your data and expect the unexpected.
